Leo Black Interview
Los Angeles Native Leo Black also known as Calikidd, emancipated from Ventura back to his hometown to attend the Los Angeles Film & Recording School. Shortly after graduating, he quickly generated fans all over the world with his high-energy performances on his first North America tour “The Lit Tour” landing him gigs all over the country, attracting thousands of viewers fall for his happy swaggish music videos on Vevo, to releasing multiple highly demanded projects on Spotify. His first introduction to the hip-hop industry was being embraced by Top Dawg Ent. member Jay Rock on his first collaboration, Leo was only 18 at the time. He later began to find his sound, by fusing Hip-Hop into the electronic dance music realm, influenced when touring with fellow Angelino DJ Mustard across North America and featured on records with Joe Moses. Leo caught the ears of thousands of youth that can relate to his melodic hip-hop flow, inspired by Drake records like “Views” and Kanye West “Graduation” earning spots on Spotify’s United States viral 50 charts. Leo has opened for Grammy award-winning artists like Chance The Rapper and Juicy J and is considered a must watch breakout artist on the rise in 2018.
